Can efflorescence occur and what should be done?
-
See this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efflorescence
Efflorescence will eventually go away on its own with time. In many cases a simple diluted solution of muriatic acid will remove the efflorescence and not harm the concrete. There are also special cleaners on the market that will clean the surface of the efflorescence without the use of acid.
Can my concrete crack?
- We have taken many precautions through the use of cutting edge admixtures and new age reinforcement fibers, as well as structural steel reinforcement to reduce and often eliminate cracking. However, hairline cracking is always possible. Many times hairline cracks will show up in the grout lines and be difficult to see. It is possible that these hairlines will cross over the individual “stones”, if this occurs and becomes noticeable, appropriate steps can be taken.
